To give you the idea let me give you first the story about this movie.
 

 

1971. The year before Martial Law is declared. The place: The Adoration Monastery in the woods of a remote province a few hours away from Manila. A young novice, Sister Lourdes, enters the monastery. A few weeks later, Sister Remy, an extern nun, who as such, is tasked to face the “outside world” buying supplies for their daily sustenance, selling plants at the market, etc. Gets a visit from her mother and is told that her brother has gone missing. Sister Remy asks for a brief leave of absence to join her family in the search for her brother. Mother Superior turns Sister Remy down, wanting to keep the nun safe from harm. But Sister Remy, still troubled/confused by the news about her brother, has other plans and ends up smuggling a pocket radio into the monastery to listen to news reports in the dead of night. Sister Lourdes eventually finds out what Sister Remy has been up to. Sympathizing with Sister Remy’s problem, Sister Lourdes asks to become an extern herself. She and Sister Remy start attending meetings of families whose militant relatives have disappeared. Mother Superior ask Sister Remy to buy some groceries and attend a meeting. When one of their meetings drags into the night, the two nuns end up walking in the woods in the dark and get accosted by a few men. Sister Remy escapes but Sister Lourdes is not that lucky. Shortly before dawn, Sister Lourdes is found in the woods. She has been sexually abused, her clothes are all dirty and not organized meaning she got raped by several men. The entire monastery gets shaken, and the nuns start to unravel from the memory of that fateful night. Mother Superior and Sister Vera saw the actual scene that Sister Lourdes was raping but suddenly Sister Vera wants to rescue Sister Lourdes but Mother Superior stopped her. Months later, the crisis climaxes in a startling revelation that turns the nuns’ world upside down. Sister Lourdes got pregnant and wants to abort the baby but as days goes by she changed her mind and finally gave birth with the help of Mother Superior the baby is alive but Sister Lourdes died. The end :)

 MOVIE REVIEW/MOVIE ANALYSIS:

At first when I watched the trailer of this movie, I thought this is a horror film because of the scenes and the actresses portrays and obviously because of the nuns as a general character. Of all the three films from the New breed category that I watched, For me this was the best movie for me because it satisfy my imaginations and it widens my thoughts. Yet it remains a mysterious story and it has a very consistent characters. Although the story is somehow usual from the other stories or movies that the main character got raped or what still the fact that they are all nuns and believing that the nuns are very good at taking care of own selves. It also show the culture of the nuns living in the Adoration/Adorasyon. They have deep faith to our God that everything will heal by the use of prayer and by believing to God. I liked the flow of the story and the mysterious type of the story. So thumbs up for this movie!
